Suhas Chakma, Director of Rights & Risks Analysis Group states that the lapsed Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) has become the symbol of identifying the BJP in the North East. He explains how serious actually is the issue of foreigners in all the North Eastern States. He says foreigners are identified based on ethnicity and religion and not based on law. The CAB is also an incentive to neighbouring Bangladesh and Pakistan to expel minorities and PM Modi is following the footsteps of Nehru on the issue.
